Dafne Marilù Amalia – Roman military art.

Decima Taurina Caelestis (Decimo Taurino Caelestis as the male noun) is the name I go by as a legionary.  It took a lot of hard work, determination, sweat and tears to become part of a legion regardless of my abilities as legionary. There wasn’t such thing as a female legionary back in ancient Rome, therefore some disagree with me taking part into this practice which I strongly love and have a great passion for. Adversities can be particularly harsh for a woman especially in a chauvinist country such as Italy, where I currently practice.  To those folks I simply reply that I am less to no man and I do as I please.

As a legionnary my goal is to become great at fighting and to look more and more male look alike between the lines.

I love Roman history and its former glory, its architecture, ingenuosity, its art and the way it was heading to.  Since I got into its military practice it was almost obvious that it was going to inspire my artwork greatly.      Dafne Marilù Amalia * Decima Taurina Caelestis
